ENERGY – the power and ability to be active, natural enthusiasm and effort. That was certainly the atmosphere of our first full day on the field and the beginning of our Bible clubs.
E – Everyone finally together after flight delays. Miss Melany, Elizabeth, and Reagan finally made it to the field after being delayed in the States due to weather and mechanical issues with their flights to JFK. What a blessing to have a full team along with everyone’s luggage finally arriving this evening. What an energy that came over twelve of us seeing that van pull up with the remaining luggage.
N – New Connections with Campers. From the very littles (5 & 6-year olds) to the older boys and girls, it was exciting to learn names and for returners, to reconnect with the boys and girls who have all grown over the past year.
E – Excitement over Bible Lessons, Crafts, and Games. We began a series of Bible lessons on the Life of Samuel with Jayden and Faith Neds giving great lessons with some very funny illustrations of Samuel coming to Eli in the middle of the night that had all the children engaged in the story. After Bible lessons, there was time for splitting up the group for crafts and games.
R – Rejoicing Over and Around great Food and Fellowship. Stafan, Phoebe, and Cotaleen are back with us to cook our meals here in San Mihi. Stefan and Phoebe are the parents of Missionary Ruben. They are unbelievable servants for Jesus Christ but also great meals and desserts.
G – Golden Birthday Faith Neds. Today was Faith’s golden birthday so we started the day singing happy birthday and finished the day with cake and singing again in Romanian and English.
Y – Yoked Together – Energy increases when the group works together. We saw that in our team members as they banded together to lead songs, give illustrations during the lessons, team up to connect with boys and girls who struggle to engage with the group, and chip in and help with set-up, clean-up, and everything in between.
